		<description>It&#039;s not the savings themselves that affect benefits but the interest gained on the savings. Interest on savings is classed as income this is why it affect peoples benefits. Any savings or sums of money under £6000 is not taken into account at all when calculating benefits so your £2800 will have no affect on anything you receive. Enjoy the extra money :)</description>

As you say, personal savings do come into account when claiming benefits
but I&#039;m sure your amount is below the cut-off point</description>
