I had an accident 2 days ago, while sitting stationary a 4×4 hit into the back of me and made me hit the car in front. i only have a little saxo and the boot is dented and now doesn’t shut or lock and the insurance company (without seeing the car yet) have told me it will be written off and they will pay me what the car is worth. This part i understand, although until they have seen the car and paid me i wont believe the money is mine!

I am also slightly hurt but nothing major. I have had a head ache since it happened, i have a bruise on the back of my head (i had my hair in a pony tail and hit the headrest) and my neck shoulders and back are stiff and achey. The guy at the insurance company told me i didn’t need to go to a&e to claim for personal injury and yesterday he called to offer me £850 as an instant payment.
He also told me that i could pursue for more but it would take 6-12 months.

So now i don’t know what to do! How much do you get for whiplash if you take it further? I only ask as the money i will get for my car will not buy me anything great so anything that is available would be very useful in buying myself a replacement car! (hopefully one with an airbag this time!) Also they will not give me a courtesy car because of my age so i’m going to have to pay for buses or trains or something to get around for the next few days/weeks until i can find a car

any advise will be appreciated, i am not only trying to get money for the sake of it

THE SOLICITOR IS THE MAN WHO OWNS THE COMPANY GPP WHO APPOINTED HIM SELF.

Thinking of training as an Accident & Personal Injury Investigator in the UK … anyone in this game or know of anyone who is currently working in this field ? Know in the UK it’s self employed work, but what about potential earnings ?

* I was involved in a PI RTA (Personal injury road traffic accident), where the offending driver had run without exchanging details before police arrival.
* Police found the offending vehicle abandoned few minutes later.
* Police phoned my mobile & gave the full registration No.
* 30 minutes later, I visited the suspected car, it was no road tax disc displayed on the windscreen.
* Police didn’t report that vehicle to the DVLA, as there was no police notice on the windscreen as required.
* The next day, I saw the suspect driving the same car, stopped against my home address, we looked at each other, then he drove off, & continued committing his crime ( driving withoput insurance a non taxed V/L & may be without a driving licence).
* All that happened because the police didn’t seize the V/L to locate the dangerous driver, instead police lift the V/L intact, so giving the suspect his more chances to drive again!!
* My V/L was written off, I was left witout a car for 2 weeks.

Hi a week ago i was involved in a serious car accident which involved 3 cars,a van driver hit a mans car which then hit mine,we were both stationary waiting in traffic when the van hit us at 60mph from behind,he has admitted it was completely his fault and said the sun was shining in his eyes and he couldnt see the cars.
two cars including mine were write offs.
I went to hospital 3 hours after the accident as my back,neck and head were really hurting,i had hit my head on the steering wheel,the stereo also popped out and hit me on
the side of the head and i was thrown forward then back.
at the hospital they said i had severe whiplash and gave me painkillers,the painkillers are not working,im suffering so bad with migraines,i cannot walk without wearing a neck brace and my back pain is unbearable, i am also a nervous wreck and cant bear loud noises or sudden movements im not sure i can drive again for a very long time.
My 5 year old daughter was unharmed just a bruised shoulder,but has been very effected by the accident she wakes up crying and wont get into my mothers car,and shes very nervous of loud noises and bangs,not sure if she is too young to claim?
I have also lost my car which was my pride & joy but just lucky to be here and my 5 year old daughter was unharmed.
ive been advised to claim a personal injury claim through my car insurance solicitors and that i may be entitled to some compensation pay out? any advice would be great P.S its on a no win no fee basis?

Thankyou for all your comments i have found them very helpful,and im greatful for your time reading my problem! i did contact my insurer as soon as i got home from the accident,went to hospital 3 hours after accident and have a doctors appointment for tomorrow afternoon. i have been appointed to a firm of solicitors by my insurance company and they have sent me forms to fill in and send back,i just wanted to know if its worth doing,but by the sound of it i am going to be able to receive some compensation so i,ll send the forms back tomorrow..thankyou again for your help Chelle
Im in so much shock and upset and the moment,loosing my car was the most upsetting thing about it all,no amount of money could make that feeling go away,as my car was a gift bought for me before my nan passed away from bowel cancer 3 years ago! feel like i let her down now the cars been wrote off! but i know if she was here she would be angry that i felt that way…she would just be happy and glad that i am ok…

I was hit from behind & got whip lash with soft tissue damage. I had a cat scan I had PT for 5 months. I could not sleep for over 3 months. After 5 months I was released by PT. Medical bills are 00.00 After 10 months the insurance co. sent me a offer of settlement. We are willing to offer you 50.00. This amount is inclusive of all incurred medical bills and expenses. What does this mean? Are they offering me 50 plus medical or 50.00 plus medical? And is it a fair offer?

Ok I was not at fault. I was stopped in traffic behind other cars that were stopped. I saw the car coming about 500 YD behind me she panicked and hit her gas All I could do was push on the breaks fearing hitting the cars in front of me.I had no were to go. I spent over 3 months in pain could not sleep because of the pain. The bills have gone to collection because I am not working. I tried in every way to prevent them from going to collection. This is in Idaho. It has been 9 months from time of accident & I have provided everything the insurance co. asked for.

I was injured by another driver in a head on collision that by his own admission, was his fault ( Elderly gentleman that forgot which side of the road we drive on on in the UK, just as i came round the bend on a country road at 50mph !). Apart from the usual minor cuts & bruises i suffered a fractured & dislocated ankle & a fractured sturnem. I have a Solicitors company looking into a personal injury compensation claim. Does anyone with experience of personal injury claims have any idea of what sort of figure i should expect? I don’t want to accept an offer that is too low for my injuries !
