Hi
I realise the meeting is about making sure the case is ready to go for trail and to set out who will attend,doctors/witnesses etc…
Would it not be in both side interest to get things settled instead of going through the process of going to court??
Thanks to anyone with information on matter

The PTR is the last court hearing before the trial. It’s possible, but most unlikely, that the case will settle at that hearing.
If the case settles it will be either in a round-table meeting or as a result of offers and counter-offers made in correspondence.
As to your question, it is not in the interests of the defendant to pay out more than the claim is worth, or on a claim that they think they may win.
The claimant, unless there is an offer he/she is prepared to accept, does not have the option of settling the case.
Most claims settle, some don’t – this one may not.
Absolutely!
Thats what usually happens!
